The Parish nurse’s role focuses on personal health counseling, health education, referrals, wellness promotions, advocacy and the integration of faith and healing. At St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, the nurses are volunteers and members of our church community. The program provides health screenings and consultation including blood pressure, hearing, cholesterol and diabetes education, as well as other educational programs. Lifeline screenings have been held for the past two years. Flu vaccine clinics are held when vaccine is available through CMC. The Parish Nurse Program also provides home visits for Parishioners who are unable to come to the church. For information about becoming a Parish Nurse Program volunteer, or for more information about the services provided, please contact the Parish Office at 669-7444. The Parish Nurse Program is a collaboration between local faith congregations and Catholic Medical Center’s Community Services Program. It is a cooperative effort of greater Manchester congregations of various faiths and CMC to reclaim the church’s ministry of health and healing of mind, body and spirit. St. Elizabeth Seton Parish is a participating church, along with 13 other churches in the region.
The mission of the Parish Nurse Program is to assist local faith communities in their efforts to provide spiritual, physical, psychological and social care to their members and their neighborhoods.
The Parish Nurse Program is held twice a month on Tuesdays in the Activity Center from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., September - June, and once a month in July and August. Dates for each month are published in the Church Bulletin every week.
